Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Welcome back everyone! What a busy term break it has been with lots of different trades people working around the school. The new windows went into the admin area and they have created a more open, modern and warm environment. We have also had the whole school exterior painted and that will be completed by the end of this week, plus the highly anticipated turf and sandpit area was finished and is now ready for use. The field area is about 95% complete and we are just waiting for the grass mounds and tunnels to be constructed. While we wait for the grass area to be completed, we have locked the field gate and ask that everyone stay off the grass. Thank you for your patience with us as we complete this project.
These projects have come about from several years of fundraising, grants and careful financial planning. It is amazing to see all the plans come together and we are so grateful for the hard work that the community has put into supporting the variety of fundraising ventures over the years.
The children have given me a wish list of equipment for the sandpit that they think would be good. If anyone has any sandpit toys such as diggers, buckets, spades, etc. that are no longer being used and would like to donate, please send them along to the office so we can sort through what we still need to purchase.
This week we opened our roll growth room, which we are calling Room 5. The children and Ms. Squires have settled in and are enjoying using the space.
Kia pai tō rā whakatā - Have a great weekend.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 28th July, 2024
Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
John 6:1-15
In this Sunday’s Gospel, we hear the story of Jesus feeding the 5000. There are many wonderful contributions that we want to make to our world but sometimes we might wonder whether we will be able to do these things that God wants us to do. In this Gospel, Jesus taught His disciples that He can take their small offerings and make amazing things happen. When we offer God our works and our actions, God will bless them and will help us do amazing things. Loyola Press
This week in Room 6, we have had a lot of fun exploring magnets with our science box. We have learnt some amazing scientific words like ferromagnetic. It has been very interesting and we are looking forward to doing some magnetic experiments soon.
We warmly welcome the following students to St. T's!
Honor Anquetil, sister of Ellie (Rm 9) and daughter of Rory and Sophie;
Kairi Apimerika-Curran, daughter of Daniel and Kendra;
Holly O'Connell, daughter of Fraser and Frances;
Heidi Pursglove, daughter of Fraser and Rebecca;
Arya and Lachie Spence; daughter and son of Lee and Marie;
Leigha Kingsford-Averin, granddaughter of Jane Reid and daughter of Aleksandr Averin.
We wish you all many happy and memorable years as part of our lovely wee school community.
Parent/Teacher Interviews - 6th & 13th August
These interviews take place on Tuesday, 6th August and Tuesday, 13th August starting at 3p.m. and run for 15 minutes. To book your appointment, please go to schoolinterviews.co.nz and use the event code fbkaw (case sensitive) to book your slot. It is an expectation that all families make an appointment to meet with their child's teacher.
TOMORROW is a non-uniform day and instead of a gold coin donation, we are asking for donations of items for our Mid-winter Christmas Raffle gift baskets. Some suggestions: chocolates, sauces, wine, crackers - simply anything that you would put in a lovely gift basket yourself. Thanks in advance!

For Term 3: There will be a total of 10 Fridays that pizza will be available for you to order - that is for every Friday of the term. This term's fundraising is for Camp 2024 and will be administered by parents whose children are attending camp this year. We will revert to the general fundraising for school in Term 4.
To order pizza and/or ice blocks for your child, please follow ONE of the two processes below:
1. ORDERS FOR THE TERM: Pizza will be available for 10 WEEKS this term. So if ordering for the term, just multiply by 10. If you decide part way through the term, then calculate how many Fridays are left. Send an email to the team, outlining the following information for each child you are ordering for BUT in one email is fine.
Child’s Name:
Room No.:
Number of pizza slices - please specify if gluten free
Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.
2. WEEKLY ORDERS: These need to be sent to the same email address, with the same order details as in Option 1 and also paid into the same bank account number.
VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all
the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to
the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term,
simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.
kaiorders@stp.school.nz
Payment by internet banking only to 12 3254 0109325 00 using the
reference PIZZA. The team would appreciate a screenshot of your
payment, sent to their email address.
