Congratulations to Isla Giles in Room 9, who made her First Holy Communion today. Unfortunately Isla was sick on the Sunday that this year's cohort made their First Holy Communion and she missed out. It was very special to have this during Buddy Mass and to have Cardinal John celebrate the Mass for us.
Parents & Friends are a vital part of our school community and organise a range of events such as Pizza Fridays, Disco, Calendar Art, Christmas Family Fun Night and much more. On Wednesday, 6th November at 6.30p.m. we will be hosting an information evening in the staffroom for anyone who is interested in learning more about what the Parents & Friends do and how you can become involved. Please mark this in your diary, bring a friend and come along and get involved. You won't be given a job but you will meet some cool people and get some ideas about the fun stuff you can help out with.
Remember Monday is Labour Day so no school. Enjoy the long weekend.

Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mark 10:46-52
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus restores sight to the blind man, Bartimaeus. Bartimaeus has great faith in Jesus and has to call over the loud crowds many times to get Jesus’ attention and many people tell him to be quiet in the process. Eventually, Jesus stops, calls for him and tells him that his faith has restored his sight. This Gospel reminds us to be persistent with our prayers and to have confidence and trust in God.
We can't believe that it is nearly the end of the year. Room 9 is really busy and we are working hard on a reading assignment about a book called My Brother's War. It is a story about WW1 and two brothers who are not getting on because one of them chooses to go to war and one of them stays home because he is a conscientious objector. We are learning a lot about war. We are also busy preparing our speeches as well as having a turn with the EPro8 equipment. This is where you are set a challenge and have to work with equipment in a team. It is going to be exciting when we get to go on our Camp or Zoo Sleepover and we are really looking forward to it. We hope everyone has a really good long weekend.Lachie Cato was recently baptised at St. Theresa's Parish here in Plimmerton. Congratulations and many blessings to him and his family as they accompany him on his faith journey.

Friday, 8th November is our Teacher Only Day which means there is no school for students. Kelly Club, here at St. T's, is offering a full day of care from 7a.m. - 6p.m. for ALL students, regardless of whether the usually attend or not.
As per our notice last week, the order form is attached and has instructions for ordering. The two sample sizes are available at the office.
For Term 4: There will be a total of 8 Fridays that pizza will be available for you to order for - that is for every Friday of the term except Teacher Only Day on 8th November.
To order pizza and/or ice blocks for your child, please follow ONE of the two processes below:
1. ORDERS FOR THE TERM: Pizza will be available for 8 WEEKS this term. So if ordering for the term, just multiply by 8. If you decide part way through the term, then calculate how many Fridays are left. Send an email to the team, outlining the following information for each child you are ordering for BUT in one email is fine.

Number of pizza slices - please specify if gluten free
Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.
2. WEEKLY ORDERS: These need to be sent to the same email address, with the same order details as in Option 1 and also paid into the same bank account number.
VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all
the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to
the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term,
simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.

Payment by internet banking only to 12 3254 0109325 00 using the
reference PIZZA. The team would appreciate a screenshot of your
payment, sent to their email address.
We're still collecting Yummy stickers which earn us points for sports equipment. A chart is attached for you to use and copies are also available from the Office.
