Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
This week we had the privilege of visiting Hongoeka Marae. Thank you so much Steve, Vanya, Yarrah, Junior, Acacia and Hezekiah for warmly welcoming us into Hongoeka Marae and providing an unforgettable experience for the whole community. We are deeply grateful for the pōwhiri welcome, the aroha and the manaakitanga you shared with us. The thoughtful activities — from exploring art and walking to the pou, to hearing stories in the wharenui and sharing kai together — created a space of connection and belonging, leaving us with cherished memories.
We will continue to pray for a speedy recovery for Pope Francis as he remains in a stable condition at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital. The Vatican confirmed yesterday that recent medical examinations are showing significant improvement.
Next Monday, 17th March, we celebrate St. Patricks Day. The children can wear something green with their uniform if they want to.
- “May green be the grass you walk on, may blue be the skies above you, may pure be the joys that surround you, may true be the hearts that love you.”
The Plimmerton Community Emergency Hub will be holding a response scenario over the weekend. They are inviting all residents in Cambourne/Plimmerton to attend. The attachments from WREMO explain the scenario and what they intend for the afternoon.
Come along and practise working together as a community during a disaster.
Saturday, 15th March, 2 - 4pm

Kia pai tō rā whakatā - Have a great weekend.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 16th March, 2025
Second Sunday of Lent
Luke 9:28b-36
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus is transfigured in the presence of Peter, John and James. The disciples almost missed this amazing event because they were sleeping. In life, we can be like this, be asleep to Jesus and not recognise that He is always with us. Lent is an opportunity for us to wake up to this, to see more clearly where Jesus is in our lives and how we can respond to His message for us.
In Room 3, we have been working on our self-portraits. We went step-by-step to create realistic portraits of ourselves. We used our pencils, sharpies and pastels to create our masterpieces. We put in a lot of time and effort and we are extremely proud of ourselves!

Years 2 - 6 Sports Hoodies - FINAL DAY FOR ODERING
TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY FOR ORDERS AND PAYMENTS
There is the opportunity for students in Years 2 – 6 to purchase a hoodie as part of our sports uniform. These hoodies do not replace our school jersey and cannot be worn to and/or from school unless children are wearing their PE uniform for a sports event. However, they can be worn at school with their uniform. It is an OPTIONAL part of the PE uniform and there is no obligation to purchase one.
The navy blue hooded sweatshirt has the school name and logo printed on the front and your child’s name/wording screen printed on the back.
The sweatshirts come in sizes 6 (L40cm, C78cm), 8 (L43cm, C80cm), 10 (L48cm, C90cm), 12 (L52cm, C92cm), 14 (L60cm, C100cm) and 16. L = length, C = chest. These measurements are approximate and the length is taken from the front neck of the hoodie to the bottom. There are some sample sizes available if you would like to try one on your child first. The cost per sweatshirt is $80. The school will not accept responsibility for the size you/your child chooses.
If you would like to order one, please return the slip below. Payment must be made at the time of ordering and this can be done via the Internet (preferred option) to our school account (12 3254 0109325 00), in cash or by Eftpos.
We would like to try get the order in to the supplier and delivered as soon as possible, so please return your form with payment, to the Office by Friday, 14th March - NO ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE.
Cakes and Sweets Contributions for our March Madness Fair
Cakes/Sweets Baking Donations
Thank you so much for supporting our school by donating to the Cake Stall at our 2025 March Madness Fair!
All families will have been given one box to fill with a donation of delicious baking, to be returned to school on Friday, 21st March by 10a.m. if possible please. If you require more than one box because you would like to fill it with additional baking, please contact Marilyn Majid 0211109559.
All boxes should be dropped off to the Junior Block Kitchen down by Room 1.
A suggested category of donations per class:
- Rooms 1/2 /3 – Cupcakes – frosted or unfrosted would be very welcome!
- Rooms 4/6 /7 – Cakes
- Room 8 – Biscuits
- Rooms 9/10 – Slice/Fudge/Small sweets e.g. Truffles, Cake-Pops, Coconut Ice.
Please note – The above categories are only a guide, in the interests of having a variety of goods to sell. If you have a special recipe that you would like to bake but that isn’t in your suggested category above, please feel free to do that instead! All donations are welcome and very gratefully received!
Rooms 1/2/3 Cupcake classes – if you would prefer to return your cupcakes without icing, we would be happy to decorate these on your behalf!
Cakes and Sweets continued..........Decorate your cake box
Cakes / Sweets Baking Donations – continued…
A fun extra (but OPTIONAL!) twist this year… If you would like to, please decorate the box provided (before filling it with baked goodies!) to enter our St T’s BAKING BOX Competition! Let your imagination run wild!
Your baking box can be decorated in any way you like. 1st/2nd/3rd places will be awarded for creativity and originality.
We can’t wait to see what our school community comes up with! Please make sure to stop by when you drop off your box so that we can take a photo of the creator and their creation!
Make sure you put your name and classroom number on the return sheet above in case you are one of our clever finalists! Winners will be named in the school newsletter after the event.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure the decorating doesn’t interfere with opening the box to get to the yummy things inside! All boxes need to remain clean on the inside to store your baking and easily able to be opened and closed, to preserve freshness and hygiene.
Thank you and GOOD LUCK!
For anyone making cupcakes for the Fair - a great offer!
For anyone making cupcakes for the Cake Stall, if you would prefer to return your cupcakes without icing, we would be happy to decorate these on your behalf! What a bonus, right?!?!
School Photographs - Friday, 28th March
Photographs are taken of ALL STUDENTS, regardless of whether parents decide to order them or not and there is no obligation to do so. A notice regarding having a family/sibling photograph taken on the day will have been sent home with your child. If you would like to take up this offer, then please fill in your details and return it to the Office.
Have you added your ribbon for Holly?
We continue to keep Holly and her family in our thoughts and prayers. Please show your support for all of them by adding a ribbon (with or without a message) to our heart of hope on the fence at the end of the field.
Pizza Fridays - Term 1, 2025 - Up and Running!
For Term 1: There will be a total of 7 Fridays that pizza will be available for you to order for - that is for every Friday of the term until we break up.
To order pizza and/or ice blocks for your child, please follow ONE of the two processes below:
1. ORDERS FOR THE TERM: Pizza will be available for 7 WEEKS this term. So if ordering for the term, just multiply by 7. If you decide part way through the term, then calculate how many Fridays are left. Send an email to the team, outlining the following information for each child you are ordering for BUT in one email is fine.
Child’s Name:
Room No.:
Number of pizza slices - please specify if gluten free
Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.
2. WEEKLY ORDERS: These need to be sent to the same email address, with the same order details as in Option 1 and also paid into the same bank account number.
VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term, simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.
kaiorders@stp.school.nz
Payment by internet banking only to 12 3254 0109325 00 using the reference PIZZA. The team would appreciate a screenshot of your payment, sent to their email address.
