Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Only 2 more sleeps until our March Madness Fair and we have everything crossed for fine weather. We still need helpers on the day so please let us know if you have a couple of hours spare on Saturday to help out. Thank you for the support we have recieved so far; we are looking forward to a fun, successful day fundraising for our school pool.
The senior school headed to Cannons Creek Pool today for their swimming sports. They have been training hard this term in our school pool so are prepped and ready to go.
We have our first School/Parish Mass for 2025 on Sunday, 30th March. All children are expected to attend in full school uniform. More details of where to meet, etc. will come from teachers.
Vatican News:
On Monday evening, 17th March, the Holy See Press Office issued the following medical update on Pope Francis who is receiving care at Rome's Gemelli Hospital.
The Pope's condition is stable, with slight improvements thanks to respiratory and motor therapy. He is using high-flow oxygen therapy with nasal cannulas less frequently and at times, can do without oxygen therapy. At night, he uses non-invasive mechanical ventilation. The Pope spent the day in prayer, resting and doing some work.
We continue to pray for his recovery.
Kia pai tō rā whakatā - Have a great weekend.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 23rd March, 2025
Third Sunday of Lent
Luke 13:1-9
In this Sunday’s Gospel, we hear the parable of the orchard owner who wants to dig up a fig tree that has not produced any fruit. However, the gardener proposes it be left for a year to give it a chance. The gardener exhibits qualities of patience, hopefulness, care and attention; these are the qualities that God shows towards us. During Lent we remember that God does not give up on us; He is continually reaching out to help us become the people He has intended and forever hopeful that we will return to Him in love.

All families will have been given one box to fill with a donation of delicious baking, to be returned to school on Friday, 21st March by 10a.m. if possible please. If you require more than one box because you would like to fill it with additional baking, please contact Marilyn Majid 0211109559.

A suggested category of donations per class:

- Rooms 4/6 /7 – Cakes
- Room 8 – Biscuits
- Rooms 9/10 – Slice/Fudge/Small sweets e.g. Truffles, Cake-Pops, Coconut Ice.
Please note – The above categories are only a guide, in the interests of having a variety of goods to sell. If you have a special recipe that you would like to bake but that isn’t in your suggested category above, please feel free to do that instead! All donations are welcome and very gratefully received!
Rooms 1/2/3 Cupcake classes – if you would prefer to return your cupcakes without icing, we would be happy to decorate these on your behalf!
Cakes and Sweets continued..........Decorate your cake box
Cakes / Sweets Baking Donations – continued…
A fun extra (but OPTIONAL!) twist this year… If you would like to, please decorate the box provided (before filling it with baked goodies!) to enter our St T’s BAKING BOX Competition! Let your imagination run wild!
Your baking box can be decorated in any way you like. 1st/2nd/3rd places will be awarded for creativity and originality.
We can’t wait to see what our school community comes up with! Please make sure to stop by when you drop off your box so that we can take a photo of the creator and their creation!
Make sure you put your name and classroom number on the return sheet above in case you are one of our clever finalists! Winners will be named in the school newsletter after the event.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure the decorating doesn’t interfere with opening the box to get to the yummy things inside! All boxes need to remain clean on the inside to store your baking and easily able to be opened and closed, to preserve freshness and hygiene.
Thank you and GOOD LUCK!
For anyone making cupcakes for the Fair - a great offer!
For anyone making cupcakes for the Cake Stall, if you would prefer to return your cupcakes without icing, we would be happy to decorate these on your behalf! What a bonus, right?!?!
School Photographs - Friday, 28th March
Photographs are taken of ALL STUDENTS, regardless of whether parents decide to order them or not and there is no obligation to do so. A notice regarding having a family/sibling photograph taken on the day will have been sent home with your child. If you would like to take up this offer, then please fill in your details and return it to the Office.
Pizza Fridays - Term 1, 2025 - Up and Running!
For Term 1: There will be a total of 7 Fridays that pizza will be available for you to order for - that is for every Friday of the term until we break up.
To order pizza and/or ice blocks for your child, please follow ONE of the two processes below:
1. ORDERS FOR THE TERM: Pizza will be available for 7 WEEKS this term. So if ordering for the term, just multiply by 7. If you decide part way through the term, then calculate how many Fridays are left. Send an email to the team, outlining the following information for each child you are ordering for BUT in one email is fine.
Child’s Name:
Room No.:
Number of pizza slices - please specify if gluten free
Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.
2. WEEKLY ORDERS: These need to be sent to the same email address, with the same order details as in Option 1 and also paid into the same bank account number.
VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term, simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.
kaiorders@stp.school.nz
Payment by internet banking only to 12 3254 0109325 00 using the reference PIZZA. The team would appreciate a screenshot of your payment, sent to their email address.
