Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
This has been a busy week in school leading up to our Easter celebrations. The Catholic Character leaders have been working hard leading a range of activities across the school.
Last Friday night, they led the Parish community in the Stations of the Cross in the Church. This week they have been leading the whole school each morning to pray through each station. This is such a great example of leadership in action.

Our Room 1 children have been exploring different ways of talking to God through prayer. They have learned that this is a good time to talk and listen to God.

We have been very fortunate to have had paramedics from the Hato Hone St. John's Ambulance working with the children this term. They have been learning basic emergency response and how to take appropriate action. These lessons have been well received, well pitched and interactive.

Tomorrow morning is our Easter Pageant and the first time we are going to try and present it outside. We are praying for sunshine however, we do have the Church as our Plan B. The children have been practising hard with their speaking parts and singing so please join us at 10a.m. tomorrow. We will have a cup of tea and hot cross buns for all the adults afterwards in the Staffroom and we would love you to join us.
Just a heads up - we will be holding the first of our Parent Information Evenings next term on Thursday, 15th May at 6p.m. in the Hall. During the evening, we will be discussing IT communication (HERO and Seesaw), consulting on the Health Curriculum including the sexuality unit that is taught and unpacking some of the new Mathematics Curriculum and how that is being implemented at St. Theresa's. We would love you to join us and will be providing supervision for those children who need it.
Have a wonderful term break and a happy and safe Easter.
Kia pai tō rā whakatā - Have a great weekend.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 13th April 2025
Palm Sunday
Luke 22:14- 23:56
This Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. On Palm Sunday, we hear the Lord's passion and death. Even when Jesus is in the most pain and sadness, dying on the cross, He still speaks words of forgiveness and promises the good thief that He will join him in Paradise. Even though we are sad Jesus died on the cross, we can give thanks that He has prepared the way to eternal life for us. We strive to follow in His footsteps of love and forgiveness, even in the hardest of times.
Thank you for all your help and support over this busy term - we really appreciate what you do for us and we recognise that lots of activities/functions/events couldn't happen without everyone pitching in. We so lucky to have such a caring community.
On behalf of all our staff members, we wish you a happy and holy Easter and a good break over the holidays.
Easter Liturgy - TOMORROW - Please join us!

From the start of this year, we have been utilising a new SMS (HERO) for our school invoices to parents. At the end of April 2025, we will not have access to any tax receipts from our previous SMS, for any previous years. You will have been sent a receipt for any payments made through the old system. If you need any of your tax receipts, please search your emails.
For Term 2: There will be a total of 8 Fridays that pizza will be available for you to order for - that is for every Friday of the term until we break up except on Friday, 20th June (Matariki).
To order pizza and/or ice blocks for your child, please follow ONE of the two processes below:
1. ORDERS FOR THE TERM: Pizza will be available for 8 WEEKS this term. So if ordering for the term, just multiply by 8. If you decide part way through the term, then calculate how many Fridays are left. Send an email to the team, outlining the following information for each child you are ordering for BUT in one email is fine.
Child’s Name:
Room No.:
Number of pizza slices - please specify if gluten free
Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.
2. WEEKLY ORDERS: These need to be sent to the same email address, with the same order details as in Option 1 and also paid into the same bank account number.
VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term, simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.
kaiorders@stp.school.nz
Payment by internet banking only to 12 3254 0109325 00 using the reference PIZZA. The team would appreciate a screenshot of your payment, sent to their email address.
Absences on the HERO App now an option!
To make things easier and if you already have the HERO App, you can report your child's absence via this form of communication. Obviously, it's still an option to leave a message on the Absence Line or via email to the Office.
You need to download the App anyway, as much more information will become available to you via this platform and it will become our main means of communication.
