Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Welcome to Term 2. I hope you all managed to have a break and spend some time with your friends and family over the Easter and ANZAC weekends.
We started our term with a prayer service to celebrate the life of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. The children shared prayers and read letters from the book called Dear Pope Francis: The Pope answers letters from children around the world, written by Pope Francis.
We have another full term ahead so please keep an eye on the school calendar to keep up to date with everything.
Just a heads up: We are holding a Parent Information session at school on Thursday, 15th May, 6pm in the hall. This parent session will cover several topics including information to support using HERO, an overview of the Sexuality Education unit we teach and an update on the new Mathematics curriculum. We are hoping to have child care avaliable and will send out more details soon. Please mark this date in your calendar now.
Thank you to those families who were able to support us at the Porirua ANZAC Day Civic Parade. It was a beautiful morning and we had a good turn out. It was also lovely to see so many St. Theresa's children attending with other groups they are part of. ANZAC Day is an important opportunity for our children to understand the gift of service and aligns with our own school values.

Kia pai tō rā whakatā - Have a great weekend.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 4th May, 2025
Third Sunday of Easter
John 21:1-19
In this Sunday’s Gospel, in the dialogue between Jesus and Peter, we hear how the relationship broken by Peter's denial of Jesus, is healed. Jesus assures Peter that their relationship has been restored by giving him a mission. Like Peter, when we are baptised, we are given the mission to love and serve others. Sometimes we turn from Jesus and when this happens, we should seek forgiveness through reconciliation and then return to our mission. ~Loyola Press
SPARKS OF GOD - 2025 - Term 1, Week 10
Week 10's SPARKs ended the term with great success.
Thanks for doing your best and for setting such a good example for all of us.
We are very excited to be back at school for Term 2. We have started cross-country training with the rest of our Pohutakawa Pod. We are focussed on improving our own running and are tracking the number of laps we do on a bar graph. We can’t wait for the cross-country race later in the term!

Two quick reminders:
* If you intend taking your child out of school for any particular reason, you need to notify BOTH the classroom teacher and the Office.
* If any of your contact details change (or have changed), please email this information to the Office so that we have up to date records on file at all times.
Winter Uniform in Terms 2 and 3
Winter school uniform is worn in Terms 2 and 3. Please check the website for full details of what is required.
The expectation is that all children wear the correct uniform, at all times.
Just a reminder - school hoodies are part of our sports uniform. Whilst they can be worn at school, this is not allowed when coming to school or leaving nor for formal occasions like Mass or Assembly.
There will be two on site uniform fitting opportunities in Term 2 - Friday, 16th May and Friday, 13th June. Please call the Office if you would like to book an appointment.
Pizza Fridays - Term 2, 2025 - starting this week!
For Term 2: There will be a total of 8 Fridays that pizza will be available for you to order for - that is for every Friday of the term until we break up except on Friday, 20th June (Matariki).
To order pizza and/or ice blocks for your child, please follow ONE of the two processes below:
1. ORDERS FOR THE TERM: Pizza will be available for 8 WEEKS this term. So if ordering for the term, just multiply by 8. If you decide part way through the term, then calculate how many Fridays are left. Send an email to the team, outlining the following information for each child you are ordering for BUT in one email is fine.
Child’s Name:
Room No.:
Number of pizza slices - please specify if gluten free
Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.
2. WEEKLY ORDERS: These need to be sent to the same email address, with the same order details as in Option 1 and also paid into the same bank account number.
VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term, simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.
kaiorders@stp.school.nz
Payment by internet banking only to 12 3254 0109325 00 using the reference PIZZA. The team would appreciate a screenshot of your payment, sent to their email address.
