Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Next Thursday, 15 May, 6p.m. - 7p.m. in the Hall, we are holding a Parent Information Evening. We will cover HERO, Sexuality Education and the new Mathematics Curriculum. We have avaliabilty for childcare in the Learning Hub and would need to know numbers beforehand if you will be making use of this offer. Please RSVP using this link.
Today we pray for Cardinal John and the College of Cardinals as they enter the Conclave to vote for our new Pope. This is an historic time for both Catholics and non-Catholics. Cardinal John reflected on the task ahead of them and said "I think that one of the things that a new pope will need to do is to continue to try and give hope to the world".
Pink Shirt Day - https://pinkshirtday.org.nz/
We will be celebrating Pink Shirt Day on Friday, 16th May. Children can wear something pink with their uniform and bring a donation to support Pink Shirt Day, an anti-bullying fundraising campaign that celebrates diversity and promotes kindness and inclusion. All donations by to the Mental Health Foundation.
Next week we welcome Andrea Rodley and Mary Ely from the Education Review Office (ERO) to our School. Our last review was in 2019 and we are excited to share the progress and achievement we have made, with them.
Kia pai tō rā whakatā - Have a great weekend.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday,11th May, 2025
Fourth Sunday of Easter
John 10:27-30
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus describes His relationship with His sheep. Jesus cares for them, He knows them all by name, He protects them and gives them eternal life. We are Jesus’ followers and the sheep He is referring to. We are reminded that Jesus loves us, knows everything about us and shows us how to be closer to God.
We're all thrilled to welcome back Fred and Eirenei Ah Kuoi and their family. Penina (Room 6) started at St. T's a few years ago so she knows her way around already and Freddie has joined the students in Room 2.
We wish you all many happy years back with us here at St. T's and welcome you to our community once more.
Many, many good wishes to all our Mums and those who take on this role. We recognise all the hard work and effort it takes and we hope that everyone around you acknowledges this. Enjoy your special day!
Mother's Day Raffle - To be drawn tomorrow morning at Assembly
SEVEN prizes will be drawn tomorrow at Assembly and remember, you have to be in it, to win it!
Please return your ticket stubs along with the money tomorrow morning by 9a.m. AT THE LATEST. Payment can be made in cash, by Eftpos at the Office or via Internet banking (12 3254 0109325 00).
Thanks to all those who have already paid and returned their sold ticket stubs.
New Zealand Sign Language Week
This week is NZSL Week and the theme for this year is “An Aotearoa Where Anyone Can Sign Anywhere”. There is a whole lot of information on their website and some challenges too - have a look at this!
All classes have been continuing to use NZSL throughout the day and we will be signing one of our songs at Assembly tomorrow.
Special thanks to Beau and Ruby Dimock (and their parents, of course!) our NZSL ambassadors who distributed new posters, handy little books and other resources across the school this week.
Netball results - the season has begun!
Score: 16 -1 win for the Magic
POD: Elijah Aitofi for his great shooting and his movement around the court.
Magic Moment: Brayden Jeyathas for his great work in the centre position - such a critical role but he took on the challenge and smashed it.
Statements have been sent home in hard copy form this week. This is just a reminder that all the information about your account, payments that have been received by us and receipts are available on the HERO app.
Many thanks to those families who have already paid their contributions or are paying termly or via an AP - much appreciated!

For Term 2: There will be a total of 8 Fridays that pizza will be available for you to order for - that is for every Friday of the term until we break up except on Friday, 20th June (Matariki).
To order pizza and/or ice blocks for your child, please follow ONE of the two processes below:
1. ORDERS FOR THE TERM: Pizza will be available for 8 WEEKS this term. So if ordering for the term, just multiply by 8. If you decide part way through the term, then calculate how many Fridays are left. Send an email to the team, outlining the following information for each child you are ordering for BUT in one email is fine.
Child’s Name:
Room No.:
Number of pizza slices - please specify if gluten free
Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.
2. WEEKLY ORDERS: These need to be sent to the same email address, with the same order details as in Option 1 and also paid into the same bank account number.
VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term, simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.

Payment by internet banking only to 12 3254 0109325 00 using the reference PIZZA. The team would appreciate a screenshot of your payment, sent to their email address.
