Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
The Ministry of Education recently launched a PARENT PORTAL website. This provides a lot of information and support material about the English and Mathematics curriculums. It is age and stage appropriate for all year groups, providing a good insight into these learning areas. You can choose your child's level and find ways to understand what they do at school and how you can support them with their learning.
We had a lovely pōwhiri and Mass this morning, welcoming 5 new students and their whanau to our school community. Despite the crisp temperature, the sun shone and the children gave a warm welcome to our new friends. It is always a delight seeing students taking on their special roles with such enthusiasm and pride. Congratulations to the flag bearers, big buddies, conch blowers, karanga girls, singers and soloists, altar servers, Kapa Haka leaders and everyone involved. We love seeing the positivity and enthusiasm the children display at these special events.
It's that time of year again! With the colder weather come the usual bugs. As we are inside a bit more during the end of Term 2 and into Term 3, those bugs are more contagious. Please be vigilant and watch out for symptoms of coughs and colds, etc. and keep your children home so that we can minimise the spread.
Donna McDonald is now on Sabbatical until early Term 3. I will be Acting Principal during this time.
Kia pai tō rā whakatā - Have a great weekend.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 25th May, 2025
Sixth Sunday of Easter
John 14:23-29
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus offers the gift of peace but not as the disciples knew it. This peace was through the Holy Spirit, which He said His Father would send down to Earth. The peace that the Holy Spirit gives us is knowing that Jesus is always present in our lives. When we offer others the sign of peace, we are offering the wish that Jesus will always be present in their hearts.
Sparks of God - Term 2, Week 2 and 3

In Room 1, we have been learning about ourselves and each other. We created our self-portraits and used colours that we love. When we looked at each other, we noticed that we are all different. We have different skin colours and our hair is different. We also noticed that some things are the same. Some of us are the same height, some of us love the same colour, we love the same songs and we like the same food. We all love playing.
Room 1's ocean mural shows how we are treating the ocean. We need to notice and do a better job!
Welcome to our new student in Room 2
A very warm welcome to the newest member of Room 2! Welmar Odendaal, brother of Annah in Room 6 and son of Frans and Juan started his school years last Friday. We wish him many happy times as part of our St. T's community.

Netball results from the weekend
Congrats to Willow Cooling on getting PoD. She worked hard at centre and came up with so many great intercepts.
Our Magic Moment went to Nellie Sutherland and Georgia Price. They played together amazingly in the goal circle during the first half and then in the second half, Nellie continued to score some great goals and Georgia did some great intercepts when she moved to WD.
A tough game against a top team this week! Our players kept their heads up and gave it their all.
PoD : Niamh McMinn for consistent energy and great movement.
Magic Moment: Alexandra Bennett for an epic long-range goal!
There has been a strong response to this news! We ask for patience and understanding whilst stock is being sorted. At this stage, the cotton socks will only be available in early(ish) June and the cost will be $15 per pair. These are obviously not compulory - just another option. Our usual woollen socks are still available as they previously were.
If you would like to purchase any, please email our supplier directly: Bernadette Chapman b.chapman093@gmail.com or call her on 04-2125611.
For Term 2: There will be a total of 8 Fridays that pizza will be available for you to order for - that is for every Friday of the term until we break up except on Friday, 20th June (Matariki).
To order pizza and/or ice blocks for your child, please follow ONE of the two processes below:
1. ORDERS FOR THE TERM: Pizza will be available for 8 WEEKS this term. So if ordering for the term, just multiply by 8. If you decide part way through the term, then calculate how many Fridays are left. Send an email to the team, outlining the following information for each child you are ordering for BUT in one email is fine.
Child’s Name:
Room No.:
Number of pizza slices - please specify if gluten free
Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.
2. WEEKLY ORDERS: These need to be sent to the same email address, with the same order details as in Option 1 and also paid into the same bank account number.
VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term, simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.
kaiorders@stp.school.nz
Payment by internet banking only to 12 3254 0109325 00 using the reference PIZZA. The team would appreciate a screenshot of your payment, sent to their email address.
