Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Catholic Schools Day 2025 - Shine like stars in the world: E tīaho ana koe hei rama i te ao. Yesterday, St. Theresa’s joined with St. Francis Xavier School, Holy Family School and St. Pius X School to celebrate NZ Catholic Schools Day. This was held at 3 school sites, providing a wonderful experience for the children to meet other students at local Catholic schools.
The theme for Catholic Schools Day was inspired by the late Pope Francis. He designated 2025 as the Church’s Year of Jubilee: Pilgrims of Hope, Manene o te Tūmanako, giving voice to his desire for the year to foster a greater sense of global sisterhood and brotherhood and caring for the environment. Pope Francis called us to 'fan the flame of hope by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart and far-sighted vision'.
At all school locations, the children shared a liturgy together and completed some craft activities, as they reflected on how they can shine like a star in the world.

The weather has been pretty good this term so the children have had lots of opportunity to train for Cross Country. Today, Pohutukawa Pod will be running their event here at school. Next Tuesday is the Interschool Cross Country Competition which will be held at Queen Elizabeth Park. Good luck to all the St. Theresa’s students who will be representing us.
Please keep Holly O'Connell and her whānau in your prayers. Holly has had her surgery this week at Starship Hospital and we pray for a quick return to good health.
Kia pai tō rā whakatā - Have a great weekend.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 1st June, 2025
The Ascension of our Lord
Luke 24: 46-53
This Sunday, we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus into Heaven. Jesus had fulfilled His mission on earth and left His disciples to continue spreading His message with the Holy Spirit who would soon come. We are reminded during this time that we are now the ones tasked with continuing to spread Jesus' message through our actions, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
A warm welcome.......................
A new student has started in Room 3. We welcome Eva Sreeraj and her parents Raj and Asha.
We hope you have many happy years as part of our St. T's School community.

We also need volunteers on the night to help serve hot chocolate and soup. If you can spare an hour or two, we’d love to hear from you! pandf@stp.school.nz
Netball results from the weekend
PoD went to Eva Savesi. She was strong in passing and catching the ball. She moved into the gaps on the court, providing crucial support to the other attackers in the team.
MM went to Braeden Jeyathas. He listened to what was asked of him by the coach and went out and did it, resulting in some great intercepts.
PoD was Alexandra Bennett for her accurate shooting and ability to find space.
MM went to Ana Robinson for impressive mid-court intercept and Mya Phillipps for scoring three late goals against a strong defender.

For Term 2: There will be a total of 8 Fridays that pizza will be available for you to order for - that is for every Friday of the term until we break up except on Friday, 20th June (Matariki).
To order pizza and/or ice blocks for your child, please follow ONE of the two processes below:
1. ORDERS FOR THE TERM: Pizza will be available for 8 WEEKS this term. So if ordering for the term, just multiply by 8. If you decide part way through the term, then calculate how many Fridays are left. Send an email to the team, outlining the following information for each child you are ordering for BUT in one email is fine.
Child’s Name:
Room No.:
Number of pizza slices - please specify if gluten free
Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.
2. WEEKLY ORDERS: These need to be sent to the same email address, with the same order details as in Option 1 and also paid into the same bank account number.
VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term, simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.
kaiorders@stp.school.nz
Payment by internet banking only to 12 3254 0109325 00 using the reference PIZZA. The team would appreciate a screenshot of your payment, sent to their email address.
