Donna McDonald - Principal's Note

Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
What a crazy week this has been. Going into a snap Level 4 lockdown on Tuesday night was a shock. Today's 1pm update gives us reason to be cautiously optimistic about the length of this lockdown and the main message remains 'stay home and stay safe' and of course, wear a mask if you need to be out in the community. Please book in to get tested if you are symptomatic and follow up if you were booked in for a vaccination.
Our main priority is always the health and well-being of our whole community and we are mindful that many of you are organising working from home again and juggling your children at different stages of the school system so we will not be setting formal structured work this week.
The children can access Lexia and Mathletics, read books, free write their own stories and hopefully get out in the sunshine this week.
We will update you via email on Friday afternoon after the 1pm bulletin with plans for next week, including access codes for SeeSaw learning.
Teacher only days: Due to the COVID lockdown, the teachers are unable to attend their TH502 course tomorrow and we have also cancelled our course work for Monday. This means that if the Level 4 lockdown is shifted enough to allow children to attend school on Monday, 23 August, we will be open as per Ministry of Education directives. Further information will come out via email tomorrow afternoon.
Digital devices: The Ministry of Education has given permission for staff to go on site to access digital devices and hardpacks to support learning from home. If the Level 4 lockdown is extended tomorrow, we will send out a survey and organise devices for those households that need them.
Please feel free to contact your child's teacher or me on donna@stp.school.nz if you have any questions or concerns.
Stay safe, warm and look after one another
Kia pai tō rā whakatā!

We wish you every success for the future and many happy years as part of our School community.

St. T's After School Care is up and running - come check it out!
Many of you will be aware that the St Theresa's After School Care programme is now under the management of the Board of Trustees. There are very few noticeable changes and we would like to reassure you that the programme is continuing to be run to the very high standards we have become used to and without any staff changes, this provides continuity and stability.
We have kept the fee structure the same as before, $20.00 per day with a 10% discount for siblings. However, there will be no fee for sickness. Children can be booked in full time, on selected days or on a casual basis as well.
Enrolment forms are available from both the School Office or Natalie in the hall.
The booking facility is on our website.

We're still collecting Yummy stickers which earn us points for sports equipment. A chart is attached for you to use and copies are also available from the Office.
If you would like to order a picket, please complete the attached form and return to the Office. The cost is $35 per picket.
